"My Journey to the West" tells the story of Sun Wukong and Yang Jian, who were so angry during a duel that they accidentally traveled to modern Beijing. The two, who had lost all their powers, wandered on the streets of Beijing but still fantasized about being heroes again. After a funny journey, the two accidentally broke into a theater where the drama "My Journey to the West" was being performed, and met the reincarnated Tang Monk, White Bone Spirit, Bajie, Yang Chan, and others. The "Journey to the West Family" formed by this used constantly happening hilarious stories to show the conflict between modern and ancient times, mythology and reality to the audience one by one.
