He later made a series called British Greats in 1980. A series of the same name was later presented by Jonathan Ross from 1999 to 2006.

When the program moved to 12:37 a.m. ET, the program was expanded to 30 minutes. In 2002, Nightline was ranked 23rd on TV Guide's 50 Greatest TV Shows of All Time.
